private piano lessons

We recommend Private lessons for Upper-Intermediate and Advanced students. Private lessons are usually 30 minutes, however, we do offer 45 minute lessons to our advanced students. Our senior teachers all have at least a Bachelors degree plus extensive post graduate training in piano pedagogy.

At Fort Bend Music Center our Mission is to provide excellence in Music Education in order to help the student reach his musical goals. We believe that, given the student’s desire to learn, the most important element of success in any endeavor is the teacher.

Our teachers are not only well-educated and well-trained, they love teaching! We believe that teaching is a helping profession, and that the best teachers are always involved in striving to meet the needs of each individual. Lesson plans are tailored to the individual, his learning style, and his musical goals.

Yamaha Music Education exceeds the National Standards for Music Education, which was instituted in 1994. The standards are:

  • Singing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
  • Performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
  • Improvising melodies, variations, and accompaniments.
  • Composing and arranging music within specified guidelines.
  • Reading and notation of music.
  • Listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
  • Evaluating music and music performances.
  • Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.
