We offer a wide range of drum and percussion instruction in various styles such as jazz, latin, rock, and more! Beginners typically start with the snare drum and gradually progress to the full set. Intermediate and advanced students follow personalized lesson plans tailored to their weekly and long-term goals.

Our dedicated drum and percussion teachers provide instruction that caters to each student’s learning needs and helps them achieve their performance aspirations. While all instruction begins with the fundamentals of music theory as it relates to drums, our instructors also collaborate with you to identify your musical passions. By incorporating the music that resonates with you the most, we ensure an engaging and effective learning experience.

Acoustic versus Electric Drums

When you start your drumming journey, one of the first decisions you’ll come across is choosing between acoustic and electric drums. Each has its own advantages and things to consider, so you’ll need to think about what works best for you.

Acoustic Drums

  • Authentic Sound: Acoustic drums give a raw and natural sound that’s often sought out in live performances and certain music genres.
  • Tactile Feedback: The physical response and rebound when your sticks hit the drumheads help improve your technique and rhythm.
  • Versatility: They offer a range of sounds based on how and where you hit the drum, allowing for greater musical expression.
  • Maintenance: Require more maintenance due to the need for regular tuning and potential for drumhead replacements.

Electric Drums

  • Volume Control: You can adjust the volume or use headphones for quiet practice, making them ideal for home use or in noise-sensitive environments.
  • Variety of Sounds: With pre-programmed digital sounds, they can mimic a wide array of percussion instruments beyond traditional drum kits.
  • Recording Ease: They can be easily connected to computers or sound systems for effortless recording or performance.
  • Compact and Portable: Often lighter and more compact than their acoustic counterparts, they’re easier to transport and take up less space.
